Armed Trawlers

Postby AndyG » Thu Jan 16, 2014 1:34 pm

I am interested in any Armed Trawlers and their crews that may have been at Hull during ww2. We run a website dedicated to the memory of all our people from WW1 & ww2 and love to give them a home to remember them by.

Hi Andy,I saw your request on info on armed trawlers on the Hull trawler site.My dad was a fisherman from Hull and when he died ,he left some books on trawlers. One of the books is an Ian allen book on warships of ww2.One of them is about armed trawlers. If it is of use to you ,,please let me know.He went to the "Sparrows Nest",at the beginning of the war and signed on for the RN for hostilities only.He never spoke about the war much but I have got his naval record.of the ships he served on..The book is dated 1963 and has lots of photos.Cheers ,Jim Turner.
