help to identify vessel please

Postby buster999 » Thu Oct 20, 2016 4:58 pm

Hi Forum Readers,
I wonder if anyone can help me identify a trawler running from Hull in 1961 on which I took a trip to Iceland to experience the life whilst still a pupil at Boulevard High School for Nautical Training in Hull. (aged just 15)
My memory is fading but I still have one or two details which may help and some photos too.
The trawler was, part of the Hamling(?) and Boyd Line (I think!). I also seem to remember it either began with L or W and vaguely that it had a tonnage of about 365 tonnes. I know that is not much but let's hope I can attach some photos which may help someone recognise it.
Many thanks for any help you can give.
Buster
PS That was my only trip and it made me realise that the job of a radio operator suited me so I joined up the Royal Navy the following year and served for 11 years as a sparker and PO Tel.

Hi if you check your photos see if you can find a H registration number. I know some of the old salts will recognise straight away

regards chris
