LOST AT SEA
Cyril Kenyon had joined the St Neots in October 1926 and sailed with his father who was Bosun. During christmas 1926 he was injured in a accident aboard the vessel and after been placed ashore spent two weeks in an Icelandic Hospital. On a previous trip aboard the St Neots Cyril was washed overboard but was seen and rescued. On the occasion of his death he was not missed for over two hours before a search was made of the vessel and it is thought the swell of the sea had caused the vessel to roll and thrown Cyril overboard. His death was not reported till the vessel arrived home 3 weeks later.

01 May 1930 The St Neots was in collision with and sank the Aberdeen Trawler Ben Lawyers, the collision occured 20 miles SE of Girdleness Aberdeenshire in thick fog. The crew of the Ben Lawyer had only 3 minutes to leave the vessel before it sank, the sea been calm at the time all the crewmen managed to scramble aboard the St Neots. All 9 crew of the Ben Lawyer were landed at Aberdeen after it took the St Neots several hours to feel her way through the fog the 20 miles to the port, the St Neots was damaged above the waterline.
