Fate : 9th Jan 1951 After returning home
from the Norwegian fishing grounds the St Leander was awaiting the
tide to enter St Andrews Dock when she was in Collision with the
Hull trawler Davy. The Davy although badly damaged managed to manouvre
to the West pier, 3 men jumped from the St leander into the river
but were picked up 17 other crewmen were taken off the St Leander,
after been taken in tow she finally grounded on Hessle flats and
after complete submersion and three failed salvage attempts she
became a total loss.
