Fact File

19 Feb 1939 The Pict went to the assistance of the Grimsby Trawler Loyal GY501 which was wrecked in a Norwegian Fjord, eight crewmembers were taken off the vessel by the Pict leaving the Skipper and 3 crewmen aboard to attempt salvage with the Norwegian Salvage vessel Jason. Eventually all prospects of salvage were given up and the remainder of the crew left the vessel which then foundered.
