Official Log. Monday October 27th 1913. After hauling the gear at 11pm, I told the crew to get the port gear ready for shooting W R Fire, J Hall, R Stewart & J W Pettman came on the bridge . Fire said we are not going to shoot anymore until we get a full crew, the boatswain being ill through a rupture which he has had for some years. I asked who was the ringleader, Fire Hall & Stewart said we are all in the same mind, saying, we have been treat like dogs. I asked in what way, and they made various excuses, the weather being too bad. I said , well what is it to be are you going to get the gear ready or have I to take the ship home. They said they did not care they were not going to shoot the gear anymore, so I had to make sail spoiling what ought to have been a successful voyage.   Certificates. The men mentioned above were taken before the court, Fire & Hall were fined 30/- & costs. Stewart & Pettman 15/- & costs
