Vessel named after Lord Hailsham : A crest of the Hailsham Family was given to the ship in 1942 at the request of First Lieutenant Reginald Mortimore, and was displayed on the front of the ship's bridge.
27 Feb 1943 The Lord Hailsham was part of the convoy escort for WP300 escorting eight merchant vessels from South Wales to Southampton. when in the English Channel the convoy was attacked by German MTB`s Lyme Bay , there were several vessels lost including the Lord Hailsham.
