03 Sept 1901

The Ladybird ( Skipper Boyd ) arrived at St Andrews Dock Hull with the 13 members from the Gothenburg steamer Carl Frederick Wern, which had sprung a leak and foundered. The trawler was engaged fishing when she saw signals of distress from the steamer, on reaching the steamer it was ascertained she had sprung a leak and was foundering the 11 man crew and two women were taken off the steamer, which sank shortly afterwards.

30 Sept 1906

The Ladybird ( Boreas Hume ) On her outward journey to the Icelandic fishing grounds stranded between 9 and 10 o`clock when she went ashore near Old Slains Castle, Overhill Rocks Aberdeenshire about half a mile from Collieston during dense fog. The crew managed to land safely by themselves in their small boat.
