PATERSON - MICHAEL ( Skipper ) 44 Park Avenue Hull - 28 Dec 1972 The Brucella under Skipper Paterson was accused of intentionally ramming the Icelandic Gunboat Odinn, Skipper Paterson said "During this manoeuvre there was no damage to the Brucella and I saw no damage to the Odinn's stern where we grazed each other."

26 Apr 1975 The Brucella had started to take water she was up to 3 to 4 feet of water in the engine room the skipper called for assistance and ordered the rest of the crew onto the freighter Manafoss. the skipper sent a further distress call but remained with his vessel and only came off after the Icelandic gunboat Tyr had placed pumps aboard and frogmen had patched the hole. The vessel was towed into port by the Tyr. The crew were landed at Aberdeen.
