27 Nov 1925 The Hull Trawler Beryl landed the crew of the Scottish Drifter Arndilly Castle which was homeward bound from lowestoft to Lossiemouth when she was hit by a hurricane which split her deck. The Beryl managed to get along side and take the crew off before she sank.

NEW TRAWLER BERYL II :  A further addition to the fleet of trawlers now serving the Sydney market, will be the trawler Beryl II due here sunday next from Hull. Formerly owned by the Three White Crowns Co Ltd of Hull, the Beryl II was for some time one of the fleet of trawlers operating in the North Sea. She has been purchased by Messrs Cam & Sons and will be used in conjunction with the trawlers Goorangni and Dibbin. ( Voyage of 53 days from Hull to Freemantle and 66 days to Sydney ) The vessel made her 12,000 mile journey under the command of Captain C H Floyd.
