Searle-Wood 3 sudden large explosions were heared and felt by the Ayrshire and as she looked across at the Fifeshire realised she was sinking fast, as the Ayrshire turned and headed for the Fifeshire she spotted the Heinkel`s which had inflicted the fatal wounds, they were turning and heading back Ayrshire the next intended victim. As the Heinkel`s came the Ayrshire run straight at them her bow facing them the heinkel`s payload dropping all around her, the lone lewis gun of the Ayrshire was no match to the cannon fire she was receiving but she battled on and eventually survived the day as the Heinkels flew off.
