Fact File

On the 31st May HMT Stella Dorado while at Dunkirk picked up 55 survivors from the Siroco which had been torpedoed, some 24 hours later at 0230 on the 1st of June whilst patrolling in the same vicinity she herself was also torpedoed and sunk by E boat S34. Within the hour the Hull Trawler HMT Argyllshire ( Sub Lieutenant J S Weddle ) in company with her fellow Hull trawlers HMT Stella Rigel  and HMT Lord Melchett commenced an attack on what was thought to be a submarine, she herself was then torpedoed, 5 Survivors were picked up by HMT Malabar.
