Fact File On June 20th 1918 whilst part of a fishing fleet of 6 vessels approximately 55 Nm from the Faroe Islands, they came under fire from U53 which engaged the vessels for a length of 3 and a Half Hours. One trawler stopped her gun firing for an hour after hits where observed ( This was possibly the Aisne due to the death and Injuries of her Crewmen ). The action was abandoned after U 53 had expended 140 10.5 cm and 30 8.8 cm rounds. |
